Canopy Walkway and
Machu Picchu package tour (9 days and 8 nights)
Price per person US$1320 based on double occupancy including
tourist class accommodation.
An exciting package that combines the Canopy Walkway experience with a visit
to Cusco and Machu Picchu. The Canopy Walkway is a suspended bridge spanning
over 500 meters, connected by tree platforms and reaching a height of over
37 meters above the ground. Here there is time to observe a part of the
rainforest rarely seen by man but accessible without any type of climbing skill
or equipment.
Departures: THURSDAYS

Day 1: Thursday - LIMA
You will be picked up upon arrival and transfer to the hotel
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Friday - IQUITOS
You will be taken to the airport where you will have the flight connection
to Iquitos (airfare not included).
Reception at the airport (or hotel if you arrive a day prior) and transfer
to the Explorama dock. Twenty-five mile journey down the Amazon River to
Ceiba Tops
where your Amazon adventure begins.
Afternoon transfer by boat to the Mazan trail where you pass across a land
bridge which marks the shortest distance between the Amazon and Napo Rivers.
Upon arrival at the Napo River, your next launch will transfer you down the
river to the 250,000 acre Amazon Rainforest Reserve and ExplorNapo Lodge.
Afternoon hike through primary, terra firme, non-flooding rainforest
including a visit to the medicinal plant garden near the Camp.
Evening excursion by open boat along the Sucusari Stream in search of caiman
and to enjoy the night sounds and stars of the Southern sky.(B, L, D).
Day 3: Saturday - CANOPY WALKWAY
Early morning birding excursion. Morning hike to the Canopy Walkway, a
suspended bridge spanning over 500 meters (1/3 of a mile), connected by tree
platforms
and reaching a height of over 35 meters (115 feet) above the ground. Here
there is time to observe a part of the rainforest rarely seen by man but
accessible without
any type of climbing skill or equipment.
Afternoon boating excursion along one of the Napo tributaries spotting for
sloth, birding and having a try at fishing for piranha.

Day 4: Sunday - IQUITOS
Early morning birding by boat or foot. Morning excursion to visit some of
the local river people called "ribereños" whose houses and schools are seen
along the river.
They will be pleased to show you their simple way of life dominated by the
movements of the mighty rivers that surround them.
Early lunch and followed by your return trip to civilization by boat on the
Amazon and Napo rivers back to Iquitos.
Transfer to the airport where you will take the flight back to Lima (airfare
not included).
Upon arrival ,you will be taken yo your hotel (B, L).
NOTE: Due to the everchanging nature of the rainforest, day-by-day
activities are subject to change due to weather, trail or river conditions.
Bring rain gear and sunscreen as for all Rainforest programs.
Day 5: Monday - CUSCO
Transfer to the airport where you will take the flight to Cusco (airfare not
included).
upon arrival Reception at the Cusco airport ; you will be taken to the
Orquidea Real Hostal.
In the afternoon: Cusco City Tour From 1:15 p.m. Aprox
This tour includes the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral and
some other famous places like the famous fortress of Sacsayhuaman, then to
Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
You will also receive a tourist ticket valid to many other sites you can
visit on your free time.
Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 6: Tuesday - SACRED VALLEY TOUR
(Available on shared service on :TUESDAY, THURSDAY AND SUNDAY ONLY!)
At 8:15 a.m. we will depart for the Sacred Valley tour, that includes: Bus
service to the market of Pisaq, visits the ruins of Ollantaytambo, and the
market at Chinchero.
There is an English speaking guide, and lunch in a typical restaurant in
Urubamba.
Of course, throughout this trip you will have magnificent views of the high
Peruvian Andes.
At the end you will go back at the Hotel. ( B,L )
Day 7: Wednesday - MACHU PICCHU
At 5:30a.m. you will be picked up from the hotel to the Poroy train station
which leaves at 06:53a.m.
Travel will be in a "Vistadome" Class (formerly "Autowagon").
You will arrive to the Aguas Calientes Station, from where you will take a
25 minutes bus ride to the ruins of Machu Picchu.
Once there, you will take a guided tour, with an English speaking guide.
Overnight at the Hotel in Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu). (B, Box lunch)
*Optional: For lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge instead of box-lunch,
add $40.00 to the tour price.
Day 8: Thursday - AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU
Morning at leisure in Aguas Calientes to continue visiting the area and
Machu Picchu (bus ticket and entrance fees not included).
In the afternoon at 15:20 pm we will take the Vistadome train back to Poroy
station.
Upon arrival , tramsfer to your hotel in Cusco. (B)
Day 9: Friday - TRANSFER OUT
Transfer to the airport where we will take the morning flight back to Lima
(airfare not included) in time to get your international flight connection.
