CUMACEBA LODGE" ECOLOGICAL PRIVATE
RESERVE located 21 miles from Iquitos city. At the shore of the majestic
Amazon River. The Transfer is by speedboat approximately 1 hour down
river.
The construction of the lodge is typical, is designed with a palm roof
and wooden structure, similar to the houses of the early Amazonian
settlers, built without disturbing the jungle. There is a reception
house, hammocks for relaxing, dining room and private bungalows, all of
which are protected with mosquito nets. Each cabin has its own toilet
and shower. In the evening kerosene lamps are used, There is also a bar
where you can try the local drinks, some of which are said to have
aphrodisiac effects! We also have sodas, beer , wine, whisky, rum, Vodka
etc. |

DAY 1: IQUITOS - CUMACEBA LODGE
Transfer to the pier to board our speed boat and visit the
floating town of Bethlehem (Nov-Jul). Navigating the Amazon
observing the different villages. Typical drink upon arrival at
Cumaceba Lodge. Allocation of private rooms. Short trip knowing
orchids. Typical lunch, walk through the jungle knowing flora
and fauna. Sunset on the Amazon River. Night walk, insects,
frogs, tarantulas etc. Amazon myths. Dinner and overnight. (L,
D)
DAY 2: CUMACEBA LODGE
Morning tour and birdwatching in Shansho cocha, Breakfast, visit
to the native group Yagua to know their typical dress, dialect,
lifestyle, demonstration of old way of hunting, with the "Blowgun",
make crafts that can be redeemed or purchased. Typical lunch,
tour down the Amazon river visiting a family who preserve some
varieties of animals such as sloths, monkeys, turtles,
"Anacondas" or boa constrictors. Dolphin watching gray and pink
river. Night trip by canoe to enjoy the sounds typical of the
tropical rainforest. Dinner and overnight (B, L, D)
DAY 3: CUMACEBA LODGE - MONKEY ISLAND (JUL-NOV) 1HR WALK.
Breakfast. Tour the Amazon River and visit the private project
of preservation of monkeys in it with 5 different endangered.
Walk through the jungle knowing some of the coastal plantations.
Visit a family who produces sugar cane and its derivatives
processed through a mill, such as sugar cane rum, molasses.
Return to Cumaceba Lodge. Amazonian tales and myths. Dinner and
overnight. (B, L, D)
DAY 4: CUMACEBA LODGE - PAICHE & CAIMANES
Breakfast and Aquatic Lila observation of the world's largest
Victoria. Recreational fishing Regia species such as catfish,
sardines and voracious "Piranha." Typical lunch. Visit coastal
estate which preserves the largest fish of the freshwater "PAICHE"
Arapiama Gigas, largest fish in fresh water. observe them the
fish as food. Alligators of various sizes. Walk through the
small town knowing their daily work. Return to Cumaceba Lodge.
Dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
DAY 5. CUMACEBA LODGE - IQUITOS
Morning walk. Breakfast. Basic guidelines for survival in the
jungle. Paddle boating depending on the season. Cumaceba proper
time return to Lodge. Lunch. 14.30 return to the city of
Iquitos. Transfer to hotel or airport. (B, L)

conditions
